Sports

Here at Elsthorpe School we are fortunate to have a rugby field, hockey turf, basketball court and swimming pool onsite. Our kids participate in sports with other Central Hawke's Bay schools including cross country and athletics.

Pet Day

Our annual Pet Day goes off with a hiss and a roar! This is a great opportunity for the students to bring and share their pet lambs, dogs, chickens, goats, rabbits and other furry friends. A number of ribbons are given at the end of the family fun filled day.

Swimming

We are privileged to have a fabulous swimming pool which, not only our school pupils enjoy, but the entire Elsthorpe community. Normally open from around Labour Day to Easter the pool, set in the school grounds, is used exclusively by pupils during school hours with supervised lunch time swimming for all. After school hours and weekends, the pool is open to everyone who has a key. Elsthorpe children learn to swim from a young age and it makes up a very important part of the summer curriculum.
